In 2021, we saw roughly 60% of normal rainfall, and this has translated into a vintage that is complex and concentrated, packed with classic Zin fruit flavors. Harvest was on September 11, which demonstrates how much warmer that summer was compared to this year when the Zinfandel pick was on the 29th of September. The wine was aged for over 20-months in 25% new French, 25% new American and 50% neutral barrels. Each bottle is individually hand-numbered.
Tasting Notes:
Medium deep red color with a ruby red, garnet hue. The nose is exhibiting classic brambly notes integrated with black cherry notes and savory, spicy characteristics, all enveloped with just the right amount of toasty oak. On the palate, the wine is medium to full bodied, showing layers of ripe red fruit flavors with a structure that carries the weight of the wine from the entry all the way through to the long finish.
